Case Study 1: Prevacid®24HR Heartburn Treatment Launch Display

Pharmaceutical Company Launches Unmanned Capsule

After a popular heartburn drug got FDA approval for an OTC version of its original prescription medication, Sonoco helped it literally come out of the pharmacy and “over the counter” to make a huge impression in multiple locations throughout retail environments. 

The Prevacid®24HR national floorstand/powerwing structure is shaped to mimic a Prevacid®24HR capsule. The capsule shape is constructed of edge-crushed pillow foam adding dimension and visual interest to the shape. Additional layering of two die-cut, capsule-shaped, SBS elements (one teal and one pink) between the front and back planes of the display heightens visual interest and impact. When used as a floorstand, the structure is supported by a neutral grey pillar and teal vacuum formed platform.  A clear brochure pocket dispensed product brochures and coupons, and the display’s gravity-fed design kept it looking full. 

This eye-catching display won a prestigious Gold OMA (Outstanding Marketing at Retail Achievement Award) from Point of Purchase Advertising International.


Case Study 2: BIC Create-A-Pack Mark-it® Permanent Marker Display

Marker Display Brightens Entire Customer Experience

This Sonoco high-impact display solution, created for BIC USA for a joint back-to-school promotion with the world’s largest office products company, truly had it all.

Shipped fully assembled, the BIC Create-A-Pack Mark-it® Permanent Marker Display was engineered with prepacked marker trays and a marquee header that retracted over the trays to minimize display size and protect the markers during shipment. The display's engineered internal locking solution made store setup fast and easy; holes on the top of the header allowed store personnel to slide it easily and securely into place.

The display, which received a Gold Outstanding Marketing Achievement Award (OMA), provided a dynamic four-sided shopping environment, with built-in plastic bag dispensers that allowed shoppers to choose from 36 bold colors of fine and ultra-fine point markers to create their own custom variety pack.

Brand imagery and unifying structural and graphic elements clearly communicated the imaginative permanent marker color names, aiding shoppers in navigation and color selections. The display's high-gloss UV coating created a premium, quality look that heightened visual impact, attracting and engaging shoppers at first sight.
